Queens of the Stone Age (também conhecidos pelo acrônimo QOTSA) é uma banda norte-americana, formada em Palm Desert, Califórnia em 1997. Seus integrantes atuais são Josh Homme, Troy Van Leeuwen, Joey Castillo, Dean Fertita e Michael Shuman.
Originalmente formada sob o nome Gamma Ray pelo guitarrista Josh Homme, Queens of the Stone Age desenvolveu um estilo pesado, que Homme descreve como ‘robot rock’, dizendo que ele “queria criar um som pesado baseado em uma batida sólida, e prendê-la na sua cabeça”. A banda é frequentemente descrita como Stoner Rock, embora eles rejeitem o termo.


“O termo é uma droga. O único elemento do qual eu quero me livrar, são os caras sem camisa, suados e atletas. Nós queremos que o sexo sangue dentro da música. Nos nossos shows, nós queremos ver metade garotos e metade garotas em um mundo utópico bebendo e dançando.”
