Hammerbox é uma banda de Rock Alternativo e Grunge de Seattle dos anos 90. Lançaram seu primeiro álbum por uma marca independente, a CZ Records, o que lhes deu a oportunidade de trabalhar para uma editora maior, posteriormente, a A&M Records… O feito não durou por muito tempo e logo a banda estava se separando…Fizeram pouco sucesso mas, tiveram grande reconhecimento devido à exposição de duas de suas musicas (Simple Passing e a mais famosa Trip) no popular, reconhecido e muito grande na época, jogo de Arcade, Road Rash…A vocalista, Carrie Akre, também passou por Goodness e por The Rockfords, hoje faz carreira solo com um estilo bem mais calmo.
